You’re literally claiming that the creation story means something other than what was translated which means we cannot trust what any of the Bible says since it was translated wrong.

If it’s not 100% perfect, then it’s imperfect;

God allowed a confusing and misleading passage to be included in His book, therefore, He doesn’t care if we have the truth;

and that we should accept some infallible man’s “interpretation” of the story instead if what is purported to be God’s word — despite the same book telling us not to do that.

God would know it would be translated into English, therefore, He could have avoided the issue. Since He did not, He intended for this story to be confusing.

This is where the cognitive dissonance overwhelms you and you bail.

The irony is that your argument supports the idea that the serpent told the truth.
