Why We Should Criticize North West’s Lion King Performance

If you were in a coma this past weekend, you may have missed North West’s performance of Simba at the Hollywood Bowl.

It was awful.

The 10-year-old was dressed in an oversized hoodie with crew socks and fuzzy slippers, her hair hanging out of a lion’s mane that looked like it was cut from one of Grandma’s furry toilet covers.

Yeah, the costume is exactly what you envision Kanye West would design for a concert performance in front of the world. Or what you might expect a 10-year-old to wear in a school talent show to perform “I Just Can’t Wait to be King.”

I just can’t decide what was the worst part.

Never mind, watch it yourself.

We aren’t supposed to say such things. It’s not nice.

In the world where everyone gets a participation trophy, we are supposed to express sympathy for North and reserve…
