This is going to seem strange, but this is capitalism in action.

Humans are not beings, they are consumers. The elderly retire and immediately shift from being drones in capitalism to pure consumers -- mostly of medical care so companies can extract government funds.

No one gives a shit about them. They are a demographic. Insurance companies recommend healthcare they don’t need with the encouragement, “It’s free to you! Medicare pays for it.”

What we need is to utilize these people and have them continue to contribute, even if in a volunteer capacity. Those who are still able should be care giving and advocating. They need meaning in their lives. Most of this decline is from a lack of learning and use of their brains.

But no one cares.
