The One Spiritual Reason Why the GOP is Destroying Itself
So are the Democrats, but it is a much slower process.
The basis of the GOP ideology assures the destruction of the party. It is not a political process, but a spiritual one.
In the most basic sense, the approach to governing seeks to either increase or decrease certain influences in society. The opposing parties provide a balance to each other.
The Democrats seek to move forward, hence you will sometimes see the label “progressives.” You might believe this is unworkable because it will raise taxes or introduce immoral behaviors. Maybe you are worried about creating more government bureaucracy.
Whether or not you agree with this approach, this action builds something new, moves into unfamiliar territory, or creates.
The Republicans seek to hinder movement forward, hence the term “conservatism.” Their focus is on the traditional. They want to slow, stop, or even reverse the progress made in previous decades. You may believe this to be stifling certain ethnic groups, genders, or keeping old power structures in place.
