My full-time job is performing this same function for another site. Kudos to Medium for an aggressive campaign against this rot and making the online space better.

I can say without reservation that the past six months has been a nonstop battle against AI-generated spam and it is getting worse every day. I watch in horror as cyberspace deteriorates before my eyes. Anyone who faces this onslaught has my respect including those moderating social media. I am truly frightened by what this election will unleash.

And bravo for removing the accounts without warning. It is frustrating to watch these scumbags “test the fences” to try and figure out a way to avoid detection by the screening tool.
