Jesus Christ on a cracker.
A major news publication is inadvertently pointing out that many bosses are abusive to subordinates and the takeaway is something akin to, “Hey, this might not be the most effective management style to achieving your goals. You might try being a decent human being.”
How about we stop painting sociopaths as “tough bosses" and start calling it for what it is? Capitalism rewards those without scruples and abusive bosses who frequently have untreated mental illnesses and/or substance abuse issues excel in a corporate environment. For every screaming, critical, demanding narcissist, there are dozens of good people suffering physically, mentally and emotionally from their abuse and this spreads like a contagion through society.
But let’s not talk about the people suffering every work day under these massive tyrants, the bigger problem is clearly profits are being threatened.
It isn’t the workers who need drug testing -- it is management. A disgruntled employee isn’t the greatest danger to your health and happiness, it is a crazed manager with a license to make your life hell, with right-to-fire laws to back them up and the constant threat of destitution to keep you in line.
How about media articles that don’t pander to your corporate advertisers?
